The San Juan Islands National Monument is an archipelago of over 450 islands, rocks, and pinnacles in northern Washington State's Puget Sound. Managed by the Bureau of Land Management, it encompasses approximately 1,000 acres across many of these islands and rocks. This landscape features forests emerging from gray rock, with snow-capped peaks in the distance and sandy beaches. It is a significant area for scientific and historic treasures, wildlife, and education.
