About

Kakwa Wildland Provincial Park is a remote, rugged park containing over 650 square kms of forested valleys, creeks, lakes, and mountains. Located in the Alpine and Sub-alpine sub-regions of the Rocky Mountain Natural Region, the park features a complex array of mountains, foothills, meadows, streams, and rivers. It is home to a diverse range of plants, birds, and mammals – including grizzly bears, lynx, and woodland caribou. Kakwa Falls – Alberta’s tallest waterfall at 30 meters high – is one of three waterfalls located in the Wildlands.
